Referees are the most important people to a soccer match. South Dundas United has developed a great refereeing program that provides training in a safe, judgment free environment. The organization welcomes interested youth and adults to join our program. Training is included, and all referees are paid for games. Students requiring volunteer hours to graduate high school can also referee in exchange for the volunteer hours needed.
We need you! In 2024, we had a great roster of 23 referees. But as with every year, there is attrition. That’s where you come in.
Returning referees from previous seasons must re-register each calendar year. We have an urgent need for U18 eligible referees. Referees for this level need to be born no later than Dec. 31 2006.
SDUFC has referee opportunities for all levels from U5 to U18.
Why Referee Soccer? – Great question. Becoming a soccer referee gives soccer players a new appreciation for the game from the other side. Knowing the rules and how they are applied helps make a more well-rounded soccer player. Through our mentoring program, new referees gain confidence on the pitch, and referees get paid. Referee one or two games in a week, and have some extra money in your pocket.
